Boots No7 Intelligent Balance Mousse Foundation

What it claims -

No7 Intelligent Balance foundation glides on effortlessly for a barely-there feel keeping skin shine free all day long with a soft, natural looking finish.

What it did for me - This foundation's main ingredient is WIN. Because it's just that amazing. True to it's name, it is indeed a mousse. The texture is light, airy, and yet rich. When applied it simply melts into the skin providing a rich powdery matte finish. I read such raving reviews of this product and I am now a believer.

When I first applied it, the color seemed a little too light for my skintone. However after a few minutes it seems like the color began to match perfectly. There are currently about 5 shades ranging from light to dark. And the shades appear darker in the jar. It also comes with a small scoop.

You only need the smallest amount to get great coverage, the jar will last you quite some time. It's airy texture makes it feel like you're wearing nothing (on your face). The jar is made of glass and has the appeal of a high end designer product, but without the high end designer price tag.

All in all, I found nothing wrong with this foundation. In fact, it will probably be the only foundation that I'll ever need. The price and quality are second to none.

What's this?! Yeah, I have pictures! Now that I have access to a decent camera, you can expect pictures with my most of my new reviews. My shade is Blonde.

What Is BB Cream?

BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream, although it can occasionally be called Blemis or Beblesh Balm Cream. It originated in Germany where it was created for patients who had cosmetic procedures done. Now it is hugely popular in Korea and is spreading across Asia.

But what exactly is BB Cream? Simply put it is a makeup product similar to foundation, but with the properties of skincare. It moisturizes, UV protects, and conceals, while containing products to fight acne and diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Some formulas also contain whitening agents to brighten and whiten the skin.

While it does sound like skincare, it is makeup and should be treated as such. This means you should not use BB Cream in place of your moisturizer, sunscreen, or acne treatment. It should be removed before bed. Some people experience break-outs using certain brands, so BB Cream is not intended as a cure-all, but more as a makeup with extra benefits. BB Cream is more of a preventive, if you have existing acne or other skin problems it would be best to use products specifically catering to those problems.

BB Cream is typically tinted like a foundation. Although you could use BB Cream as a foundation, it is recommended more as a base for other makeup. Most BB Creams are reported to have light to medium coverage. However, unlike foundation, BB Cream does not come in a lot of shades, typically 1 or 2 shades at the most. The shades are usually light to medium. Unfortunately those with darker skin tones are left out because it will not blend well. If you do fall within the general shade range, BB Cream is said to blend well into skin tones even if it is not your exact shade.

BB Cream pricing generally falls between $20-$40. Fortunately, you do not need a large amount to get the desired look. BB Cream is not available in the general North American market, but it can be purchased online.

I know I haven't updated in months, there's just so much shit that's been going down and my blogging had to take a back seat. I lost my job, got into a small accident, and fell into depression. I haven't bought makeup in a very long time, so my supply of things to review has fallen short. I simply lost interest in all the things I once loved, including makeup and blogging.

Right now I'm trying to get my life back on track. I'll see if I can find some new things to review and start posting regularly. I'm also planning on starting a new makeup blog. Also, while doing some small template editing, I accidentally erased all of my custom coding. So I'll have to work on rebuilding that, so please pardon the lack of sidebar information. Until then, please use the search bar to navigate until I can get the category lists back up.

I'd like to thank those who still rely on my reviews, thank you very much for your dedication. I promise I will get better and HTG will live once again.

Senna Mineral Mix Buff & Brighten

What it claims -

For the most polished, flawless and totally ‘pore-less’ effect, finish your look with a light dusting of loose translucent ultra-sheer ‘Buff’ mineral finishing powder. This sheer mineral finishing powder helps to refine pores and make skin look like porcelain. A pressed crystal white highlighting powder in the lid instantly brightens and highlights cheekbones, nose, forehead, and brow bone.

What it did for me - I love this stuff. Seriously. I pair it up with their primer and it makes my skin look fantastic. Occasionally I'll use it as it, without a foundation. The highlighter is wonderful too because it looks natural and isn't so shimmery that it looks like you've stepped out of a glitter-themed night club. I have absolutely nothing but praise for the quality of the makeup.

My only beef is the jar. A lot of powder is dispensed no matter how gently I handle it, and it gets everywhere. Considering how awesome this powder is, I don't want to waste a single speck of it.

If it is within your pricerange, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It has been, by far, the best powder I've ever used.

But on another note, my boyfriend has huge pores. The next time I get the opportunity, I will use this powder on him to see how well it works. My pores are small to begin with, so if it can cover up his it can cover up anybody's. I'll let you know how that works out.

EDIT: Tried it on the boyfriend, it didn't work out so well. So I wouldn't recommend this for those who intend to use it for large pores. On the other hand I learned about a magical product called BB cream, which is supposed to be excellent for pores. I'll keep you all posted whenever I get a hold of some.

My Poupee Girl

So, I'm addicted to Poupee Girl, which is a Japanese based fashion and beauty community.

You upload photos of your beauty and fashion items to add to your virtual look book. In return you get a random amount of ribbons (currency) and a random item per photo.

These ribbons are used to buy fashion and beauty items for your avatar. You can also sell your unwanted items. There are limited edition items that are event specific, ie, a holiday, festival, etc.

With the items in your virtual closet you can compile a look for the day which is saved as your daily "snapshot." You get 10 ribbons for your daily snapshot If you complete a month's work of snapshots you get a 200 ribbon bonus.

You can also earn 2 ribbons for every comment you make on someone else's photographs. If you like their item you can give it a Suteki rating, which is sorta like a thumbs up.

IMAN Perfect Eye Pencil

What it claims -

Non-greasy, applies easily and blends beautifully. Rich pigmentation for definition on darker skin tones.

What it did for me - This is one of my favorite eyeliners because it's just so creamy. In all honesty, this pencil glides on more like a cream eyeliner than a pencil. Because of it's soft consistancy it's not hard on the eyes nor does it tug and pull. It combines the quality of a cream with the control of a pencil.

Because of it's softness, it may be difficult to sharpen. If that is the case simply stash it in the fridge for a while to harden it up before sharpening.

Overall I couldn't find anything I did not like about this eyeliner. The quality is comparable to more pricier brands.

I love carrying these in my bag so that I can clean my face within a matter of seconds. These are a must have for anyone who loves to wear makeup that isn't easily removed. I have nothing negative to say about these at all, they are just that awesome.

Kiss My Face Balancing Act Toner

What it did for me - I. Love. This. Stuff.

The citrusy scent of this toner is so bright and uplifting, so much that it actually lightens my mood whenever I use it. It smells so good that I occasionally use it to lightly scent myself. If you're a fan of citrus scents, then this is the toner for you.

As for it's quality, it makes my skin feel soft and refreshed after using it. This is comparable to my Liz Earle toner, but more affordable. It's not sticky nor does it leave your skin feeling like a salamander.

It is packaged in a spray bottle with a fine mister. I recommend spraying your hand first and then applying it to your face. You can get more control this way, and you don't have to worry about misting your eyes by accident. Which I imagine burns.

Overall a fantastic product. I can honestly say that it has earned it's place in my bag of must have facial care products.

Kiss My Face Sheer Organic Shimmer

What it did for me - I love this lip shimmer. It contains the best qualities of a lip balm and the best qualities of a lip color all in one stick.

Upon application, you'll notice a tingling sensation brought on by the mint. The color is sheer like the name suggests, leaving your lips super soft with a hint of color and shimmer. I can't get enough of it, it makes my lips feel so good. I think I might be a masochist for lip pain because I adore the intense tingling sensation, but this might not be for everyone.

I have several tubes in different shades, all beautiful. This is is the first KMF product I've ever tried, and I can honestly say that I am very impressed with their quality and value. Awesome.

Bourjois Duo Scrub Balm

What it claims -

What it did for me - I had high hopes for this product, unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality. I was hoping for a good buffer, but buffer in this lip gloss was completely ineffective. It was way too soft and too small to make any difference. I was better off buffing with a toothbrush, which I was doing previously.

The balm could not moisturize because it simply sat on the surface of my lips. If it had some color to it, I could have used it as a lip gloss. But it was simply a creamy color that looked very off.

I would not recommend this product for anyone who needs some TLC for their lips. I recommend a toothbrush for scrubbing and either Mary Kay's Satin Lips Lip Mask or Smashbox's Emulsion Lip Exfoliant.

Liz Earle Superskin Moisturizer

What it claims -

This rich, luxurious and fragrance-free moisturiser is specially formulated to help mature or very dry skin look and feel rejuvenated. Naturally active ingredients include precious cranberry, borage and rosehip seed oils. Containing high levels of GLA and rich in omega-3, Superskin Moisturiser helps prevent moisture loss and improves skin elasticity. Antioxidants pomegranate fruit extract and natural source vitamin E help protect from environmental damage.

What it did for me - This moisturizer is very creamy and luxurious, I feel so spoiled when I use it. It makes my skin feel moisturized (as it should), and since it you only need a little bit the full sized jar will last quite some time. I think it smells a little bit like green tea, which smells very nice on my skin.

On a side note, I have found that this moisturizer also makes a great eyeshadow primer. I simply use a little bit on my eyelids before applying eyeshadow and it makes the colors pop.

My only complaint is the price. It's expensive and I'm sure you could find a similar quality moisturizer for a fraction of the price. But if you are in the mood for splurging, I recommend this moisturizer as a skincare treat.

Random: It seems that I have misplaced my jar. I thought I had forgotten it at home on my dresser but when returned to look it wasn't there. I'm thinking either a) my mother borrowed it, b) I misplaced it somewhere, or c) I forgot it at my boyfriend's house. I have conflicting memories of where I used it last which makes it difficult to recall what I could have done with it.

Benefit F.Y...Eye! Nude Primer

What it claims - The eye primer to prevent greasy, creasy eye lids! Stop eye shadow sliding with this apricot souffle primer. It locks on shadows and leaves a smooth satin finish so you look perfectly put together all day.

What it did for me - I like the glass jar container because it allows me to use exactly as much as I want without wasting any. Despite the size, and because you only need a little, this small jar will last quite some time.

As a primer, it delivers as promised. It made most of my eyeshadows stay on longer and become more a little more vivid. The primer itself is a peachy color, but it blends in well and is barely noticeable at all. I like how you can build up layers to create a bolder look.

This product is fairly expensive. If you need a primer, my advice would be to simply use a moisturizer instead. Try out different moisturizers that you like until you find one that works. I have found that my DDF and Liz Earle moisturizers work extremely well as eyeshadow primers and both of them do work better than this primer. Just try out a few things to see what suits your needs.

Crabtree & Evelyn Aromatherapy Distillations Skin Conditioning Body Wash

What it claims -

Early commute? Big day ahead? Start the day feeling energized and ready to be at your best. Rich lather infused with skin conditioning vetiver and samphire extracts gently cleanses your skin as the invigorating aroma of lemon and coriander essential oils energizes your senses.

What it did for me - This is the body wash counterpart of the lotion that I love, which is fantastic. It smells as refreshing as ever, the light uplifting scent makes my shower feel like a day at the spa. You only need a little bit because it lathers up so well. A dime sized amount should be enough to wash your entire body and then some.

My only complaint, once again, is the packaging. While the size and shape of the container is fine I found that it was a little more difficult to open than I would have liked. Maybe it was just mine. However, this is a very miniscule complaint relative to the sheer awesomeness of the product itself.

Using this body wash is probably my favorite part of a shower. That and shaving...because we all know how fun that is! *sarcasm*

But in all seriousness. This body wash is awesome.

Crabtree & Evelyn Aromatherapy Distillations Conditioning Body Lotion

What it claims -

'Wake up' your skin and your senses. Rejuvenating lotion blended with nourishing coconut oil and exotic tiare flower restores skin's suppleness as the aroma of lemon and coriander oils essential oils revitalizes your spirits.

What it did for me - I. Love. This. Lotion.

This my new favorite lotion, it rivals my former L'Occitane Organic Lavender Body Lotion. The light scent is so uplifting that it seems to put me in a good mood. The lotion is rich and creamy and doesn't leave a layer of greasy-ness. It sinks in quickly and makes my skin feel so so soft. It just feels so good. I don't have anything negative to say about the quality at all.

However, I do have a small complaint about the packaging. It is sold in 8.5 ounce short bottles which is a little difficult to carry around even in a large bag. I think that if they had a purse-size tube or a taller, slimmer bottle everything would be just right.

Since it is pretty pricey for a lotion, I highly recommend trying it out at a Crabtree & Evelyn store first. Hopefully you'll love it as much as I do.

Softlips Pure Honeydew

What it claims -

Softlips® Pure Honeydew is certified organic and 100% natural. the premium, organic ingredients provide a silky-smooth, eco-friendly lip conditioner for softer, healthier lips.

What it did for me - First off, I'm not much of a honeydew fan, however I found the flavor of this lip balm to be one of the most accurate lip balm flavors that I have tried. It smells fresh and fruity without that chalky lip balm scent. I'm probably going to try the pomegranate one later. It comes in a slim tube which I find much easier to use and apply.

As for the lip balm properties, it went on smoothly and didn't feel heavy on my lips. However I tend to have spells of super super flaky/dried lips which don't go well with this lip balm. But when my lips are normal this balm keeps them conditioned and feeling soft. I also like to use this balm when I have small cuts at the corners of my lips (which hurt when I eat) because it helps soothe the pain.

Overall this balm has great flavor, it moisturizes well, and applies easily.

Elgydium Whitening Toothpaste

What it did for me - I've tried a lot of whitening toothpastes and I can honestly say that this is the most effective one I've used so far. It does an amazing job at removing surface stains thus making your smile appear whiter and brighter. I saw results after every use, but I had to use it every day to keep my smile in shape.

I had oral surgery a while back and my boyfriend had asked me if they whitened my teeth too. Nope, it was from using this toothpaste.

My only complaint is that if you leave the cap off the paste dries very quickly. I made this mistake and now I can't get the rest of it out of the tube. I think I'll have to use something to stab at the dried layer.

But other than that, I highly recommend this toothpaste for a light dose of whitening. If you use it every day you can have a natural looking whiter smile.

An Explaination

I want to apologize for not being active for quite some time, especially to those who I promised a review. I will complete them all within the next round.

The reason I've been away is because I've had a small procedure done a few weeks ago. While the actual procedure went smoothly, the recovery process was longer and had more complications than I had expected.

While I have fully recovered from that, lately I've been having some respiratory problems. I'm going to assume that it's temporary and will be gone within a few days.

Once again, I apologize. I hope to be feeling better soon so that I can get things rolling once more.

What it did for me - These eyeshadows are lovely. They come in a good variety of color and are of excellent quality. They go on smoothly, blend well, and stay on for hours at a time. I don't really recommend doing this, but it's one of my tests show you how long their eyeshadows last as well as any irritation. It passed with flying colors.

My favorite shade is Carnation (pictured above), which is a wonderful all over color but it works fantastic as a base color for brighter, bolder shades. Simply apply this shade first and then go over it with your brighter shade to make the color stand out even more. I found that it works best with colors that tend to look transparent on the skin such as bright yellows.

Overall, a wonderful eyeshadow and since they have such a large collection of colors, there's sure to be a shade for everyone.

Revlon Limited Edition Creme De La Chrome Liquid Lipcolor

What it claims -

Lips are enveloped in ultra-chromed lipcolor that create maximum impact with metal-sparkled color and shine. A sophisticated Ripe Fig fragrance excites the senses. Application is flawless with the doe foot applicator as it deposits the perfect amount of product onto lips.

What it did for me - I have one in Plum Appeal (pictured above), which is a very rich metallic merlot color. Which, when applied, looks just as gorgeous on your lips as it does in the tube. However, I must make note that it does smell pretty bad, but I've found that the scent fades once on your lips.

My favorite aspect of this lip color is it is what it is, a lip color. It's not sheer or lacking in color. It's bold and has as much pigment as a lip stick if not more. It also stays put for a long amount of time, I always end up having to remove it myself. Be careful because it does like to stain your skin if you happen to get it outside of your lips. But it'll come off with a good amount of water.

Overall, the color is lovely, the application is easy, and if you can get past the smell it is an excellent lip color.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic

What it claims -

A heavenly non-drying floral-scented toner to revitalise, soothe and brighten your skin. Conditioning natural source vitamin E and hydrating organic aloe vera plus calendula, cucumber and rose-scented geranium refresh and revive your spirits.

What it did for me - I love this stuff. The scent is absolutely lovely, at least for me. It has a light floral yet tangy citrus scent that awakens my senses and gets me going in the morning. The liquid itself is very light and does not feel heavy.

But my favorite aspect of this product is how amazingly soft my skin feels afterwards, instantly. I don't have to wait to get that baby soft feeling, I only wish that it would last all day. I typically use this product whenever I feel the need to have soft skin, whether it be a special occasion or just because.

Overall, I couldn't find anything wrong with this toner. It's wonderful.

P.S. If you decide to get the small spritzer bottle, I've found that it works best when applied with a cotton ball or pad because you get more control.

JK Jemma Kidd I-Tech Liquid Eyeliner

What it claims -

Quick-dry, extreme-last liquid liner comes in every color from classic black to bold brights

What it did for me - When this eyeliner boasts extreme-last, it was not exaggerating. It's probably the longest lasting eyeliner I've ever tried. Damn. For testing purposes, I usually like make a stroke on the back of my hand to test it's lasting abilities. It literally stayed on for days, even through all of my hand washing and whatnot.

The colors are also very bold like the one picture above, which is great for making a statement. The brush is very fine, with a steady hand you could use it to make even the smallest of details. And yes, it did dry pretty fast.

Overall, I am very impressed by this eyeliner especially it's holding abilities. Although it's the only product I've tried from the line, I wouldn't hesitate to try something else. Who knows, this could be the best or the worst of the group. Either way, it is a fantastic product.

On a final note, if you go to Target they have demo displays of the JK Jemma Kidd line for you to try out!

Be Fine Exfoliating Cleanser

What it claims -

Deep cleansing to gently slough and moisturize. Almond, naturally high in minerals, removes impurities. Brown Sugar & Oat calm and heal. This non-irritating light buffing cleanser clears away dull and damaged skin. Use every day to give yourself a mini facial.

What it did for me - While it does certainly looks like something right out of a kitchen, it is a wonderful facial scrub. You would assume that it smells like sugar and almonds, instead it has a very uplifting lemon scent which reminds me of fresh squeezed lemonade.

The grains of this scrub are fairly large and it produces a nice lather when worked up. My skin felt very soft after using this. I just can't stop touching my face. However, make sure you get all of it off when you rinse, otherwise it will leave parts of your face slightly sticky.

Overall, I really enjoy everything about this scrub; it's scent, texture, and results. It's the kind of product you use when you simply need a good lift-me-up.

Sugar Plump 'Em Up

What it claims -

Pump up your pout with Sugar's new lip plumping lip gloss called Pump 'Em Up. This double duty lip gloss contains a super charged blend of active ingredients that increase blood flow to the lips while menthol, camphor & other oils cool, soothe & hydrate.

What it did for me - To get straight to the point, yes, this plumper does work. However it lasts for a very short amount of time. I'd estimate about 15 minutes of plump time. And yes, it burns. It burns like the sun! But I personally enjoy the stinging sensation, maybe I'm just a freak, who knows. But if this is a factor for you, skip it because the sensation is pretty intense.

Although it is a plumper, it leans towards a lip gloss. It provides a nice looking shine without being sticky, and when you first use it, it also causes your lips to turn into a peachy coral color. But this happens only once in a blue moon, especially when you haven't used it in a long time.

Now for the packaging. I must say that I'm not too fond of roller ball applicators because you do not have complete control with the flow and where the gloss will end up. I would be careful not to get this on any part besides your lips or else it will turn red and start to swell. Just ask my boyfriend. Harhar!

Overall, while it does work I would say to buy this not because of it's plumping abilities but because it is just a nice lip gloss...if you don't mind the pain.

Aveda Vintage Clove Shampoo

What it claims -

Ideal for natural brunette and honey blonde tones. Made with organically grown clove, a detoxifying herb that also enhances warm tones, and organically grown coffee, which enriches brown hues and provides astringent benefits to your scalp.

What it did for me - Since I am a brunette, I hoped that this shampoo would be everything it claims to be. And it is. It has a fresh herbal scent, although it occasionally reminds me of Robitussin DM.

I find the consistency of this shampoo to be a little less thick as normal shampoos, but that doesn't mean a thing when you notice how soft your hair feels after using it. But I would say the best thing about this shampoo is that it really does bring out the best of dark hair. It gives it a great looking shine paired up with an equally excellent texture.

What can I say, usually when it comes to shampoo, I rarely see any real difference in my hair. But this is one that has made me happy and satisfied.

Chanel Exceptionnel De Chanel

What it claims -

Captivating volume and audacious curves give lashes the fullest advantage - with clump-free, smudge-proof separation. Innovative six-sided brush ensures dramatic results.

What it did for me - I love Chanel's fragrance collections, but this is the first time I've ever used anything from their makeup line. This mascara left me with mixed feelings because it has both great and not so great qualities.

I would say that what I liked the most about this mascara was it's curling abilities. Most mascaras I've used in the past don't deliver when it comes to curling, but this did a fairly good job at it. The curl was natural looking and held for an acceptable amount of time. My lashes were lengthened although not "full" volume so to speak. But I loved how it did not flake.

Unfortunately, it does clump easily although the brush is very unique (it's a combination of brush and comb). After it dried (which took a while) I was able to separate my lashes manually. It left small globs of mascara stuck to the end of my lashes, I removed them after it had dried.

The mascara comes off easily with water, although it will tint your skin lightly. So I would recommend a makeup remover in order to get it off.

Overall while it does have good qualities, I personally would opt in for another mascara, high-end or not. Blinc Inc's Kiss Me Mascara is fabulous and is around the same price range.

Skullcandy Smokin Buds

What it claims - The masses have been high on these lil smokies for 3 years now. This year’s crop is no different. In terms of quality and price, Smokin Buds leave non-Skullcandy ear buds dazed and confused. And style? Forget about it!

What it did for me - I bought these to replace my Sony earbuds. I have the pink set. The sound quality is good for the price and it does help cancel out surrounding noises (although you will be able to hear a little bit). It's rich and very clear for the price. There is also a volume control on the cord which comes in handy. I use these with my Ipod and it can make the sound a lot louder than the default Ipod headphones.

Although the sound quality is great, I found the design to be lacking. They come with 3 sets of changeable ear silicone tips (S, M, & L) but I found it very difficult to keep the buds in place. They fall and can be jerked out very easily. I don't think my ears are unusual by any means, I've never had any difficulty keeping earbuds in place, but theses just kept going everywhere. Also in order to get the best sound you'd have to place them fairly deep into your ear canal, pretty much the entire silicone tip. This is uncomfortable and unnecessary.

I've read in other reviews that they break easily and the sound is lost in one bud or the other, however I've had mine for a year without any (sound) problems.

Overall, while the sound quality is good for the price, it is not worth the uncomfortability factor. I did buy another pair of Skullcandy Headphones although they were not the earbud style. I will have a review up soon.

Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation

What it claims -

It's a skin perfecter that makes lines, wrinkles and other imperfections seem to disappear. And it's suitable for sensitive skin. It blends effortlessly with the sweep of a brush for a flawless look.

What it did for me - This is my first time using Mary Kay products, and I am very impressed, especially with this foundation. I was invited to a Mary Kay beauty demo and was able to try out a few of their products. I've been looking for a new foundation to replace my discontinued Smashbox Wet/Dry foundation. And when I heard all of the good things about this product, I decided to try some out at the demo. By the end of the night, I was sold on this foundation and bought a jar (as well as other things).

It gives my skin a very polished look, my face looks softer, more even-toned, and fresh. When I first put it on I could visibly see a significant difference in the look of my skin. The coverage is great, although it seems to lean towards the full side. However, you could probably adjust it to your liking. I have oily skin and this foundation toned down the look of oil on my face. However, it does not make your face completely matte, instead it leaves a hint of shine for a more natural dewy look.

The jar is also a very good size, about 8 grams worth of foundation which will last for what seems like forever. It also has a mirrored lid which also seems to be magnified. I like to use it as a touch up mirror or when I need to work on fine details for things like eyeliner or eyeshadow.

My only complaint is the lack of varied tones. I believe there are 6 different tones available right now which seems to be a hit or miss. The tone I use is Beige 1 which is slightly darker than I really would like, but the color before it (Ivory 2) is too light. My perfect shade would be somewhere in between these two. But it does do a good job at blending into my natural skin tone.

Overall, I would say that I have become a new fan of Mary Kay products and wouldn't mind trying more out in the future. I can sincerely say that this foundation rivals my classic Smashbox Wet/Dry foundation if not more. I would recommend you visit your local Mary Kay rep to try this foundation out.

Heavenly Naturals Mineral Pigment Eyeshadow

What it claims -

Deep Ocean Eye Candy is a very vibrant Opaque blue, use sparingly for a slight hint of color or use a lot for and intense true blue.

Our highly pigmented colors will go a long way, and they are so versitile. They can be applied wet or dry.

You can use a brush or if your a simple girl, just use your fingers.

If you choose to apply them wet, simply wet your brush, and dip, color is very vibrant when applied wet. You can also use them as a liner. To use as a liner apply with a flat or angle brush wet.

What it did for me - The color in person is more of a vivid royal blue and is darker than it appears in the picture. I bought a sample of it based on what I thought it would look like. Although it wasn't what I was looking for, it is still a great eyeshadow. The shade of blue matches one of my favorite dresses perfectly and it is a color that I have never seen with eye shadows.

When it is applied, the color remains very bold and true. I like using it with a slightly damp brush for a smoother application. This shade holds for a very good amount of time and blends well with other eye shadows.

Overall, this beautiful shade of blue is the perfect addition to the blue-lover's arsenal, it is bold, long lasting, and simply awesome.

Broadway Nails Real Life French Nails

What it claims -

The patented Self Tab on Real Life nails aim to make your life even easier. Because of the shorter length of the nail, it can be harder to hold and apply. Simply hold the nail by the tab and you have complete control.

What it did for me - This was my first time using fake nails, so naturally I was very hesitant. I found this kit to be very easy to use for the first timer. Simply apply glue to the nail and your real nail, stick on, and twist off the tab. It was very easy. I also loved that you could file down the nail (file was included) in order to get a better fit.

My kit included 24 nails in 10 sizes, which was great because I was able to find the right sizes for my fingers. But be careful when applying the glue, getting it on your skin isn't a good idea (don't ask how it happened, it just did). I also accidentally grabbed and applied the wrong size to one of my fingers, it was uncomfortable and I didn't have anything to remove it with. So please make sure you check the size before you glue yourself up.

When I was done, they looked great and very convincing. Unfortunately, the glue started to lose it's hold within two days and my nails started falling off. I wasn't doing anything rough with them, simply everyday things. I was disappointed that they didn't last very long. Although the instructions say not to force them off, I was able to pull each nail off with ease.

All in all, while they did look good, they didn't hold up very well. I would only suggest using these for a short special event or occasion when you can't head to the nail salon.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Facial Mask

What it did for me - I've been getting Bliss catalogs in the mail for a while, but this is the first time I've used one of their products. I can honestly say that I am impressed. This mask left my skin not only feeling softer but looking healthier. It made my face look fresh and clean, it even removed some oil leaving my T-zones feeling good.

When you apply this mask to your face, the formula will foam up within a few minutes (it's suppose to do this) and during that time I could feel it working. However, the foam did like to gravitate down my face and some ended up on the floor. But that doesn't bar it's ability to work. And it smells like Fruit Loops, and that's always a nice bonus.

Overall it's a very nice product and it gave me a good first impression of Bliss. However if price is an object, I can recommend other good facial products that are more wallet friendly. Feel free to ask.

Max Factor ColorGenius

What it claims -

Blend multiple shades to create a fabulous healthy glow for your skin tone — just like a professional makeup artist! Each compact contains three mineral-rich colors. Just blend, brush and blush.

What it did for me - I have this blush in Peaches and it looks wonderful on my skintone. I brush on all three shades at once and it gives me a natural looking glow. It does a good job blending and doesn't leave any streaks on my cheeks. I think shade best fits those with medium skintones who want a natural makeup look.

This is a relatively short review, but it pretty much sums everything up. Natural looking glow, nice blendability and not to mention a sturdy compact. Overall a nice blush at a reasonable price. And you can find it in most drugstores and superstores.

4th Ave. Soap Co. Pomegranate Lip Lustre

What it claims -

This Lip Lustre is made with the same emollient ingredients you'll find in our glossy lip balms, but with a bit of shimmer and a just the right amount of merlot color to take your lips out on the town! Don't let the dark opaque appearance of the Lustre fool you - the application is sheer, velvety smooth, glossy, and compatible with a wide range of skin tones.

What it did for me - I think I'm addicted. This lip color is stunning. Unlike most lip colors, this one has amazing moisturizing qualities. It makes my lips feel soft and kissable. I tend to use it as a lip balm more than a lip color, although I did buy it specifically for it's beautiful shade. The application is smooth without any sign of stickiness or that uncomfortable thick balm texture.

The color itself is sheer when applied but it can be layered for a deeper flush of color. It is lightly scented. The pomegranate lip luster is available both in a twist up tube and a flip top pan. I would recommend the tube because it makes for an easier application without getting color on your fingers or having to use a brush.

Overall, it's a lovely product for both lip balm and lip color junkies because you get the best of both worlds in a single tube. I'll be back for more (I have my eye on the spiced chai lustre).

Cozy Moments Pink Lemonade Body Splash

Pink Lemonade - A wonderful aroma of fresh squeezed lemons, sugar, and a splash of pink cotton candy.

What it did for me - I just about died when I smelled this. It's fantastic, like summer in a spray bottle. The pink lemonade scent is distinct and smells good enough to drink (but don't!). You can also smell the sweet under notes of cotton candy which perfectly balances out the tart scent of the lemonade. It's a lovely combination of sweet and tart. If this were drinkable, it'd be gone by now.

The bottle is slim which makes it perfectly pocket/purse size, it sprays well in a single pump delivering a mist of pink lemonade goodness. The scent lasts for a reasonable amount of time, although I assume the eau de parfum version would last much longer.

Overall it is a delightful splash when you want to add some pizazz to your body. Mmm. I could just about lick myself. But I'll save you the imagery. Oh wait, was that a little too late? Hardy har har.

Color Fiend Clip-In Hair Extensions

What it claims -

Have fun adding instant style and color to your hair, anywhere you want, anytime you want! You can curl it, crimp it, straighten it and blow dry it!

What it did for me - I have these extensions in Turquoise, which seems to be out of stock at this time.

I have dark brown/black hair which would be difficult to dye turquoise, especially since I've never dyed my hair before. I don't want to take the risk of messing my head up with all the bleaching and whatnot. So when I saw these in a Hot Topic store, I decide to try a pair out.

These extensions come in a set of 2 and are roughly 12 inches long, although the online model makes them look much longer. Although they are synthetic, they feel very real. The hairs are smooth and very glossy, the color is bold and beautiful.

On the back of the package, it says you can style it like real hair, but I have not done so because I usually don't style my hair with crimpers, straighteners, etc. They are also washable, but it is not recommended that you brush/comb them while they're wet.

The extensions have a bending clip to hold the extensions in place. I have found that they stay put better when clipped near the scalp of your crown. However, just work it until you find a position most comfortable for you. The clips stay on very well, I've been able to sleep in them without any fuss.

Overall, I'll probably be buying more in different colors. They are great for people who don't want the commitment of permanent hair dye or afraid of what it might do.

Hot Topic Bright Eye Palette

What it claims -

This eye shadow palette features bright metallic colors like white, yellow, green, pink and blue.

What it did for me - To be honest, I didn't expect much from this palette. But boy was I wrong. This is from Hot Topics' own makeup line and it is fantastic. The colors are a bit darker in person than they are in the picture. They are metallic in the case but they come off more matte/metallic when worn. The applicator is decent, it's pretty much the typical sponge tipped eyeshadow brush, but it does a good job. Although for finer details I would recommend using a smaller brush for more accurate coloring. The color can be applied lightly for a sheer look or layered for a heavier style.

Their blending properties are amazing, it's like the colors just melt into one another. It is one of the best eyeshadows I've ever used in terms if blending properties. The staying power is equally awesome, it stays put for hours. It seriously lasted me all day, from the morning to the night when I took it off. The product is comparable if not better than high-end brand makeup. I would go so far to say that I like it even better than MAC and Urban Decay eyeshadows.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be very many color options at this point. My only beef with this product is the yellow, it's not quite as bold as the rest but it still works.

Overall, it was a very good purchase and I will definitely be looking out for more Hot Topic beauty products in the future. I wouldn't hesitate to try them again.

It's time for TILT!

On today's menu we have:

1. The Original Polly Pocket Toys - I wanted one of these so badly when I was a kid. I love them. I'll probably end up buying a bunch off Ebay. I miss them. I think the new Polly Pockets suck and miss the point completely. They were suppose to be little playsets that were convenient to take around, hence the name Polly POCKET. The new PP toys today are much bigger and seem like hassle to take around, although they're probably a little bit safer. I miss the PP with small parts that I could easily choke on.
2. The Legend Of Zelda - I could easily go on about LoZ, but I'll save you the headache. All you need to know is that I love it!
3. Perfume Bottles - I love perfume bottles, sometimes I wish I could just buy empty bottles. Like Thierry Mugler's Angel fragrance in the shooting star bottle. I love it, although the perfume does not suit me well. I wish I could just get the refillable bottle.
4. Strawberries - I tend to gravitate to all things strawberry; foods, flavored lip glosses, fragrances, everything. They're my favorite fruit. I like to slice them up and gently dip them in sugar. Healthy? Probably not. But delicious.

Just now I remembered that I have oreos stashed away in my little brother's room. So I pour out the last of the milk and sit down for some good ol' fashion oreo lovin'. Everything started out fine when I began dunking the oreos into the milk. But as soon as I took a sip, everything went downhill. It was nasty. The milk was sour with all sorts of gross. It tasted like milk and pee (not that I know what pee tastes like, I'm just making an assuption...).

I lost my appetite. It is physically impossible for me to eat oreos without milk, and I just couldn't bring myself to finish the glass. Ugh.

Today is the 8th and the labeled expiration date is for the 15th. Lies. I think it's some cruel oreo milk conspiracy. Yeah.

It is a sad day indeed.

How-To: The Edgy Eye

This super easy HTG look that combines the sexy smokey eye with the bold rocker style in only 2 steps.

Ingredients:
-Black Cream Eyeliner + Brush
-Super glittery black eyeshadow
-Q-tips

1. Using the cream eyeliner, paint an even layer over your entire eyelid from the lash line to the crease. You can choose to blend out with another eyeshadow shade if you wish.
2. Using a q-tip, dab the glitter eyeshadow onto the still-wet layer of eyeliner. A black glittery eyeshadow works best.

You can line your inner and/or outer lower lash line too, if you'd like.

My Experience - I saw this bag online and had to get it. It features functioning speakers that you can plug into your music player, any player with a headphone jack will work. I decided on buying one in blue.

The bag itself is a very rectangular shape, just like a boom box should be. It is printed on all five sides including the bottom for that realistic boom box appeal. The zipper pull contains a ribbon, a rubber note and star.

Inside is one zipper pocket and two zippered "pouches" that contain the speakers. There's a wire the connects the two speakers together and into your music player. I was expecting for there to be a pocket to hold your player in place, but there wasn't. The wire is about 2 feet long so that you can hold your music player in your hand without having to dig through the bag.

The quality of the speakers were very reasonable. They not super high quality, but they don't sound cheap. The music comes out clear and audible. The speakers don't come with their own volume control, so the sound will only go as high as your player allows.

Overall, I love this bag. I've gotten so many oohs and ahhs over it and it makes me feel special. Finally, a bag that combines form and function to create sheer awesomeness.

Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic Eyes

What it claims -

The Rocks! eye collection is the result of years and years of requests for more vivid colors. Yes, lots of women love the simplicity of mineral cosmetics and the creativity of loose powders and also have a yen for colors on the wild side!

What it did for me - First off, I am in love with Aromaleigh's Rocks! Sonic eyeshadow collection for their super bright and fantabulous colors. The colors are for those wanting a little more BANG in their eye color selection.

The colors are beautiful and go on smoothly. I have Black Diamond and Planet Earth, both of which are gorgeous. The Black Diamond shade is very sparkly and you'll probably get shimmers everywhere unless you use it wet or with a sealant. The colors look great dry, but if you want a more vivid taste I recommend using it wet by applying the eyeshadow with a wet brush.

Overall, if you're looking for quality eyeshadow shades that are outside the ordinary, Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic Eyes are a must have.

What it did for me - For me, this cream combines the best of a shine serum with the best of a hair gel. It does a great job at making my hair look fantastically shiny while at the same time holding down fly-aways and keeping my hair under control. I really enjoyed how great it made my hair look, glossy, smooth, and in place.

My only complaint is the lingering scent. It made me nauseous and I wish it wasn't there (or at least a different scent).

Overall, if you can put up with the smell, it is a good solution to lackluster flyaway hair.

Skinit Custom Gadget Skins

My Experience - Skinit.com is a website where you can order a variety of skins for your electronics and gadgets. You also have the option of a custom skin. I recently got a custom Zelda skin for my Ipod Nano 3G. Here is a log of the process:

If you're looking to make a custom skin, the first thing they'll ask you is to identify your gadget. They have many many to chose from. The price depends on the gadget.

From there they take you to their image editor. Here you can upload, crop, rotate, and edit your image(s) until you find something you like. If your gadget has multiple faces, you can have a different image for each face. My ipod skin came with 2 images, one for the front and one for the back.

They say it may take up to 5 days before a skin is finished and can be shipped out. Mine shipped out the very next day!

A few days later I got my skin in the mail. The image quality was absolutely superb, it's very sharp, clear, and professional. The skin itself has a high-grade glossy coating.

Getting the skin on was a little more tricky, it took me a few tries to get it perfectly aligned. Don't be afraid of letting the sticky side come into contact with your device when you are aligning, it can be easily moved. Once you find the right spot, press the sticker on and smooth it out. It does a good job of staying put.

Overall, I would definitely use Skinit again when I want to add some custom flare to my gadgets. Their prices are reasonable, the shipping is quick, and the product quality is outstanding.

Foot Petals Tip Toes

My Experience - Tip Toes by Foot Petals are cushions that are placed in the shoe to protect the ball of the foot. Each pack contains 2 adhesive petals and are available in different colors to match your shoes.

I bought a pair of these to slip into my favorite pair of heels. The first issue I ran into was positioning the cushions so that I would get the most out of them. I had to put them in, stand up, walk around, and adjust them until I found that sweet spot. Once I decided where to put them, I peeled the backing away and stuck them in.

Please note that these foot petals are not intended to be reused, if you take them out after they've become "stuck" in your shoe, you cannot reuse them properly. They stay put and are difficult to remove, if you do chances are there will be left over residue on your shoe. I don't recommend these for expensive kicks.

Once they're in, I have felt a slight difference in comfort. Realistically, they won't make you feel like you're wearing a pair of sneakers, but they do make walking in heels a little more bearable. Honestly, I expected a little more out of them. They felt fine at first, but by the end of the day it feels just as painful with them as it does without. I recommend them for short term uses only.

Overall, they only relieve the pain temporarily and I do not plan on getting another pair.

Today was also suppose to be my math final, but since I had missed the last 2 days of class I didn't get the memo that the date had changed. So I show up for the final, nobody is there, so I go to the department head thinking that the final is taking place in a different room. He tells me that the final was already given because my professor had to go out of town this week. Fortunately, he remembered me and left a copy of the exam for me to take in case I showed up.

Plans for tomorrow - I have to pack and get ready to move back home for a short break before the fall semester starts.

New Grading Policy

I will be implementing a new grading policy from this point forward. This policy only applies to products (both beauty and non-beauty) that are unique items that can only be purchased directly from the manufacturer, designer, or an exclusive source online. For example, handmade purses that are both created and sold exclusively by the designer. The grading scale would apply to their product because it can only be purchased from them online.

The new policy will include the following new grade categories for each item:

Shipping Time - A grade will be given for the amount of time that the item takes to arrive from the point it is ordered and paid for. The grade will take store policy (at the time of purchase), location, and holidays into consideration. For example, if the policy states that items take 5 days to ship out and I receive it in 8 business days, the store would still receive a high mark.

Customer Service - A grade will only be included if I use their customer service. If I didn't, a N/A (not applicable) mark will be given. I will include customer service details in the review if I experienced it.

Overall - This is the average grade calculated from the 3 individual grades (the third being product quality which is given in every review).

If the item is purchased online at a non-exclusive retail shop, I might include a review for the store in a separate post.

Pendants by Imogen

My Experience - I purchased one of these pendants a while back and decided to do a review on them. First off the price is very reasonable, so they'd be good as small gifts and trinkets for friends and family. I ordered the Rainbow Bright pendant (similar to the one in the lower left corner) and received it exactly 10 days later.

They were packaged like they appear in the picture. The pendant itself is a lot lighter than I thought it would be. At first glance I thought the bail looked a little flimsy (it didn't seem like the glue would hold it together), but it stayed put very well.

The pendant does not come with a chain, fortunately I already had one on hand. Because of it's light weight, sometimes I forget that I am wearing it. I have also used this as a cell phone charm. It's a very cute pendant just like the other designs available.

Although I honestly discovered this shop under not-so-happy circumstances, I was impressed by their product and would happily shop there again.

Coffin Color Mineral Eyeshadow

What it claims -

[Our] mineral eyeshadow is long lasting and resistant to sweating, smearing, or running, meaning that you won't have to worry that your electrifying color has disappeared during a night of dancing, roller derby, or bar-hopping.

What it did for me - I have this eyeshadow in Mmm...brains and the color is fantastic. I'm completely obsessed with bright colors and this eyeshadow takes the cake. The color is matte and can be used wet or dry. I have found that the color is bolder when used with a damp brush. It looks fantastic both as night wear and day wear (for those bold days).

My only complaint is the jar. The jar is 5gram in volume and is packed FULL. That means it doesn't have a sifter and I'm constantly afraid that I'll accidentally knock it over while it's open and lose my precious powdered brains everywhere.

But if you don't mind that, Coffin Color really does have some fantastic mineral eyeshadows for women who love to be bold and beautiful.

And I'm happy with who I am. I don't feel the need to change in order to satisfy society, as long as I remain healthy, I have no reason to change.

It is very hurtful when people tell me to get something to eat or ask me when was the last time I ate. I eat like a "normal" person, thank you. It hurts even more when it comes from friends and family, although I know that they are just teasing I personally don't find it funny.

I am happy with being me and I refuse to change myself in order to impress a boy, a group, or whomever.

This is one of the reasons why I love beauty products, because they are free of judgement. There are no products that are made only for "skinny" or "large" women, just women (occasionally men too). Beauty is what you make of it.

Love who you are, not what people want you to be.

Avon Mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation

What it claims -

Hide imperfections for a flawless complexion with this ultrablendable, oil-free presed powder foundation that allows buildable sheer-to-full coverage. Dual-sided compact has built-in mirror and sponge applicator.

What it did for me - I must admit, I purchased this product after reading the stellar reviews on the Avon Mark website. So I was super excited when my rep delivered them to me.

First off, choosing a color may be difficult if you are basing your judgement on the pictures in the catalog or website, obviously it is a major flaw when ordering from Avon or products online in general. I chose the shade "buff" which appeared to be a neutral color in the catalog. However it has a light orange undertone in person. Fortunately, the foundation still matched my skin fairly well and blended in great.

If you use the sponge applicator that is provided in the compact, I've found that you'll get more of a matte finish, which is good for oily spots. However if you're looking for something on the side of a sheer natural finish, I'd recommend using a brush instead.

It made my skin look and feel velvety soft. But for some reason, I just felt that it didn't make my skin looked natural, it was very obvious to me that I was wearing makeup. Perhaps it's due to the shade I chose or my application process (I just use the sponge).

Overall, it's a pretty good foundation from Avon despite my little complaints. It has become my everyday foundation while I save my Smashbox for more important events.

Wet N Wild H2O Proof Felt Tip Eyeliner

What it claims -

Calling all drama queens. H20 Proof™ Felt-Tip Liquid Eyeliner is smudge-, mood- and water-resistant. So go ahead and dance in the rain, dive in the ocean or have a good cry -- this is one eyeliner that can keep up with your dramatic, smoky-eyed ways.

What it did for me - I've been looking for a good inexpensive liquid eyeliner for quite some time. I randomly ran across this the other day and decided to give it a try. It has both good and bad qualities. One of it's best qualities is it's water resistance. It does hold up well against water and won't smear, melt. or smudge when in contact with wetness.

Unfortunately, I found it lacking in the color quality. The liquid seemed inconsistent, it in a single swipe the color would appear skippy, meaning that it was darker or lighter in various points, similar to watered down paint. I simply could not product a solid colored line.

Despite the inconsistent color, this eyeliner is good at touch ups. I use it to "edit", so to speak, the eyeliner that I already have on. Let's say I skipped a small spot when lining my lower lid. Instead of trying to use a large brush to fill in a small gap, I would use this instead to fill it in.

In conclusion, while I do not recommend this as an every day eyeliner, it is nice to have around as a miss fix.

Smashbox Wet Dry Foundation

What it claims - Fashion photographers & makeup artists swear by this product because its triple-sifted formula is ultra-smooth and never looks heavy, even during close ups. Use with or without water for fully adjustable matte coverage.

What it did for me - This is my go to foundation. I love it and I am upset that they chose not to make it any more. It makes my skin look naturally beautiful. It doesn't make you look fake like some foundations do, I think it enhances what you naturally have instead of trying to cover it up. The shades are very forgiving too. It doesn't have to be exactly your shade for it to look good.

I typically use it dry with the included sponge. I've tried it wet and have found that the water may damage the foundation in the compact.

Because it has been discontinued, I tend to use this only when I'm going out or being somewhere where I need to look good. It's not my every day foundation and I use it sparingly.

Benefit Her Glossiness

What it claims - Gloss your way to the top... this impossibly shiny gloss glides on smooth for A-list lips that will give 'em something to gossip about. The luxurious formula with jojoba oil makes your lips feel five-star pampered... as if they'd expect anything less!

What it did for me - I have mixed feelings about this gloss, it has both it's benefits (harhar, get it?) and it's negatives. The main negative is that it is pretty sticky. I do not wear it when it is windy outside because my hair will stick to the gloss. It's not as sticky as other products I've tried, but it's definitely noticeable. It's not comfortable to eat in, so I suggest wiping it all off beforehand.

However I believe that it's good qualities out number it's flaws. The color is beautiful (I have it in "Next Question Please" which is pictured above), it coats your lips with ultra-shine and makes them look gorgeous, even if you have less than perfect lips. The gloss stays put for a decent amount of time. I am the one that has to remove it when I want it gone, otherwise it'll just hang around. It also has a sweet fruity scent.

Over all, while it is sticky I love the way it makes my lips look and will continue to use the product until it's gone. But I probably wouldn't buy another tube.

Desire Hand & Body Lotion by Kazam Body Care

What it claims -

Relaxing , nourishing, hydrating encourages skin renewal, and tissue regeneration a great moisturizer for mature skin. Relieve dryness to wind and sun dried skin.

What it did for me - First off, Kazam is a bath and body line that creates natural products without the use of chemicals or artificial fragrances. And this body lotion is a prime example of how wonderful natural products are.

I have the Desire fragrance which smells unique and herbal, almost like stepping into a foreign land. It smells strangely familiar although I can't put my finger on it. It leaves a light scent on your skin that is not overpowering.

The quality is simply divine. The lotion has a wonderful consistency, it's creamy but it also isn't so thick that you have to work it out of the bottle. But my favorite aspect of this lotion is how quickly it sinks in, it just melts right into my skin without leaving any trace behind, except for silky smooth skin.

Overall, this is a wonderful lotion, it melts into, softens, and kisses your skin with a light scent.

Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Pads

What it did for me - I have mixed feelings about this product. It works, and it works well. The pads make it very easy for me to remove my eye makeup, especially the waterproof eyeliner. I like that it is convenient and easy to use unlike bottled eye makeup removers.

Unfortunately, it irritated my eyes. Although it wasn't severe, I was slightly bothered by it. I would think that a product to be used around the eye would not have a side effect like that, but it did. And according to other reviews of this product, I'm not the only one who experienced this.

And although it says it's moisturizing, I found it to leave my skin very oily and greasy to the touch. I had to wipe some of it off with a towel. However, it did leave my eye area softer the next day.

Overall, I will continue to use this product until it's gone because it does do it's job and I don't want to waste anything. However, I will not be buying another jar.

Let's see

So I decided to change my looks because quite frankly, I'm bored with the way I look now. So I went to the store and grabbed a box of Clairol Nice 'n Easy hair color and a box of Crest Whitestrips.

I've never colored my hair before so I'm a little scared of doing so. I'm terrified of doing something completely dumb (even if I follow the instructions carefully) and messing up my head. Ack. Fortunately, the color difference is not that great. I'm going from a dark brown/black to a chocolate brown. Hopefully it'll turn out nice.

I'm also whitening my teeth (hence the Crest Whitestrips). It promises results in 5 days and I've been using them for 3, and so far they seem to be working quite well. The box contains a 2 week supply. It looks very promising.

I'll make sure to include reviews on these two products once I've had the time to use them properly.

Making The Most Out Of Your Products

If you're like me, you love to multi-task (eating, blogging, IMing, and doing homework all at the same time). But it doesn't stop at just everyday tasks. I try to get the most out of my beauty products, sometimes I like to use one product for multiple uses.

Here's a list of some of my multi-taskers and ways to get the most out of the products you have. There are also some budget-friendly beauty shopping advice sprinkled in too.

1. If you have some Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, you can also use it as a fine makeup eraser. Apply a small amount to the tip of a cotton swab and use it to erase small mistakes such as eyeliner smudges.

2. Don't throw away those lipstick stumps that you can no longer apply from the tube. Instead scoop it out, put it in a pillbox, and apply with a lip brush.

3. Use your shampoo as a makeup brush cleaner. Pour a quarter sized amount into the palm of your hand and swirl your brush around in it until clean. This only works with brushes with small tips, don't do this with big fluffy brushes.

4. Use baby powder in your hair to soak up excess oil.

5. Pick up a few inexpensive painter's palettes (with wells) at your local craft/art store. Use these to blend and mix eye shadows and other formulas without color contamination.

6. If you're running low on liquid foundation, mix a little bit with your favorite moisturizer and apply to create your own tinted moisturizer.

7. Mix crushed/powered eyeshadow, blush, kool-aid powder, or crushed lipstick with melted (optional) petroleum jelly. Poor into a container and let set.

8. Combine 1 part apple cider vinegar and 1 part water and use as a hair rinse. It will smell, but the scent should be gone by the end of the shower. I used to do this and it left my hair shiny and soft.

9. Gently lighten your hair by mixing 2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part water in a spray bottle and mist onto hair. You can also apply with a cotton ball. I do this, my hair used to be pitch black and now it is a very natural looking caramel color. It took a few days before I saw any results. Always do a test strip before doing your entire head.

10. If you're on a budget but still need your beauty fix, be on the lookout for multi-medium products. One of these products can be used for many different things. For example, Clear Mineral has a fantastic multi-medium mineral makeup that you can use as a lip color, eyeshadow, wet eyeliner, blush, body shimmer, and nail polish (mix with clear nail polish). It's like getting 6 products for the price of 1.

11. Trying on some makeup at a department store but can't decide whether it's worth the price? Ask for samples to take home with you. That way it'll give you a few days to try the product before making a decision.

What I love about this mascara is it's staying ability. It holds tight without flaking or clumping. But the best part is how your lashes actually feel. I've found that most mascaras make your lashes feel as if they have a stiff layer of crust over them. However with this mascara, my lashes felt soft and flexible to the touch.

Overall, it's good at giving you a natural look and it does well once it's been painted on. However, it's not for those who are looking for long lengthy lashes.

What it did for me - This stuff is wonderful for those looking for a lip stick that functions as a balm or vice versa. It goes on smoothly (like a balm) and leaves your lips with a flash of color. It has a minty flavor and tingle (warning for those with sensitive lips), which I found to be rather enjoyable...at least for me, and the sensation lasts for quite some time. Wear it for the color or wear it for the moisturization. It keeps your lips nice and soft. The color lasts for a reasonable amount of time as well, although it will not survive through eating.

It is packaged in a slim stick which I've found to be easier to apply then a regular sized lip balm tube.

I like wearing this when I want color, but I don't want my lips feeling dry. Overall, I don't have anything negative to say about this product, it does what it says it will. It has great texture, moisturzing abilities, and beautiful color all in a great slim stick that's the perfect size for your pocket or small bag.

What it did for me - Lip Smacker can be credited as what created my makeup addiction. I loved their products as a child and I still do. Some people have grown out of it, and that's okay, but I still love all the yummy products that they have to offer. It's for the young and the young at heart.

So, I picked up a tube of this Squeezy Lip Smacker the other day in Strawberry Limeade. It smells fantastic, although I've found that the scent transforms into a more generic Lip Smacker smell after a few minutes. The gloss give a sexy shine without being sticky. The consistency was smooth and easy to apply.

Unfortunately it didn't last very long. The shine disappeared after only a few minutes. However, it left my lips feeling silky soft after the gloss was gone.

I recommend using this product as sort of a balm to keep your lips moisturized and soft instead of a gloss. Once mine runs out, I'll probably be grabbing another tube because it is very reasonably priced and keeps my lips feeling great.

LORAC Travel Sized Sheer Wash

What it claims -

For today's on-the-go woman, LORAC Cosmetics presents a travel-sized version of LORAC's popular Sheer Wash. This long-lasting sheer stain is a multi-purpose roll-on with universal appeal.

What it did for me - This is the first time using a lip stain, and I am impressed with LORAC's Sheer Wash lip stain. It is a smooth liquid, not sticky or gooey, and sinks in very quickly leaving my lips with a splash of color. I loved the fact that I got color without having the heavy feel of a lipstick or a gloss. It lasted for hours even through all of my munching and crunching.

I only have a few minor complaints. Because it sinks in so quickly, it leaves little time for blending, so it's quite possible to create blotches on your lips. If this happens and it bothers you, layer a matching lip color over it. Also, occasionally the liquid will dry around the roller ball, to remove this simply run the ball over a wet cotton pad or cloth. It also has a slight unpleasant flavor, it's noticeable if you lick your lips but it's very bearable.

Over all, I like using this product to give my lips a flush of color that I don't have to worry about. It stays put and looks fantastic.

What it did for me - I must admit, when I heard about this stuff I had to try it out. And from my experiences, it's pretty neat. The gel is a very light clear pink color in the tube. Squeeze some out onto your finger and apply it to your cheeks. When the gel first touches your face, it's a very bright pink but when you begin to blend it it, the color transforms into a more natural look. I've only seen this used on myself, so I wouldn't know how it'd look on other skin tones. I have a medium beige tone. It lasted a fairly long time and did not leave my skin feeling greasy at all. It pretty much looked great on me. However, you only need a teeny tiny amount, too much will make it look clownish. Fortunately, you can wash it off and start again if that is the case.

Bottom line, it's interesting to use, easy to blend, and looks natural, but if money is an issue you can pass on it.

It doesn't smudge and it doesn't flake...awesome!

To get it off is even easier. You don't need any makeup remover, all you need is water and your fingers (or tissue, whatever floats your goat). Unlike most mascaras, when you remove this one it comes off in little slivers, it's like being able to remove the coating off each individual eyelash. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty neat. Because it comes off this way, you won't be left with raccoon eyes or stains all over your hands trying to get it off.

In conclusion, this mascara is darn close to perfection. It volumizes, stays put throughout the day (it doesn't come off until you want it to) and it's incredibly easy to remove. I couldn't find anything negative about this product at all.

Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner

What it claims -

This amazing gel-based eye liner glides on easily and is totally waterproof and crease-resistant - giving you the power to create stay-put eyes like never before. It's perfect for lining the inner rim of the eye or as a won't-budge traditional liner.

What it did for me - When they say waterproof, boy do they mean it. Out of all the eyeliner I've ever used, this one takes the cake when it comes to staying put and not smudging. It holds it's ground when I'm washing and cleaning my face. It won't come off easily, I've even seen it stay put for days even through my showering. To get it off you'd probably need patience or some good eye makeup remover.

The jar is made of glass and is about the diameter of a quarter. But don't let it's small size fool you, this tiny jar will last a very long time. However it may get a little dry at times. To solve that, take a small knife and score (cut criss cross and mix) the cream until it is of a softer consistancy.

So long, farewell...

Atleast for a few days. I have finals this week plus I'll be moving out of my dorm room and heading home. I just got done taking my most difficult final (Chemistry) but I still have two more to go, however they shouldn't be difficult at all.

I'll be home for about a month and then I will return to school for summer classes. Fun, no?

I wish the best of luck for all students currently taking finals.

P.S. I've also been lightening my hair with hydrogen peroxide and it looks great! I used to have really black hair now it's somewhat of a dark caramel. To do this I mixed three parts hydrogen peroxide to one part water in a spray bottle. Everyday I would spray my hair with the solution and comb it through. In about 1.5 weeks my hair was lighter. Of course I did a test strip beforehand. However, it left my hair somewhat dry. I'm going to try an apple cider vinegar rinse to help keep it soft. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've also been trying to locate full episodes of Nickelodeon's original Doug cartoon series. I've found a couple on Youtube. Man...I miss this show, I want it back!

NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Eyeshadow

What it claims -

A potent bullet of colors! The loose powder is everything the single shadow is; super pigmented, easy to blend, long lasting, plus its packed with shimmer! Glisten the windows to your soul with these beautiful powders.

What it did for me - This is my first time using NYX Cosmetics and what can I say, these eyeshadows are effing amazing! They are truly the best eyeshadows I've ever used. I personally think they're even better than MAC and Urban Decay. They blend better than any eyeshadow I've ever used and there's a large variety of colors to choose from. You could probably buy all of the colors for less than what you'd pay for a few jars of expenive eyeshadow.

They're also super affordable, at only $3.00 (retail price) per jar. If you go to Cherry Culture you can grab them up for only $0.99. How sweet is that? The jars are small, about 1.5 inches in height, but you only need to use a little bit because they are fairly concentrated. When you run out you can simply pick up another jar.

My only complaint is the jar itself, it has a small opening in which you have to pour out the powder or dip your brush into it. If you choose to pour it out, there's not much control so you may get too little or too much. What I suggest is grabbing a few plastic paint palettes at your local craft store, they're only a few cents depending on the quality. The palettes have wells to hold paint that is perfect for loose eyeshadow. Just pour each color you want to use into a different well, that way you don't contaminate colors and can store the palette away if you happen to have leftovers. Or you can just improvise with what you have around, I use bottle caps off of sodas and Starbucks bottled frappuccinos, both of which work well.

When it comes to price and quality, sometimes you don't get what you pay for. But in this case, you get much more then what you pay for. I am now a NYX fan.

What it did for me - After seeing this stuff advertised in magazines and hearing all of the rave reviews, I decided to give it a try. And it is awesome. This is by far one of the best plumpers I've ever tried.

After daily use, I noticed my lips were fuller and my lip lines were smoother. And unlike other plumpers, the plumpness stays long after the serum is gone. It's not one bit sticky nor does it have any sort of burn or tingling sensation. The serum sinks into your lips within minutes and you can't even feel anything on your lips (remember, it's a serum, not a gloss, so you won't get any shine using this, but you can top it with your favorite balm or gloss). My lips also felt smoother, although it didn't do much for my already chapped lips. I recommend using a balm afterwards if you have chapped lips.

The only complaint I have is the bottle. The serum is applied using a dropper, which can get slightly messy and somewhat inaccurate. However if you purchase this serum from Aromaleigh (link below) I believe they will include a bonus lip wand tube for easier application and transport.

Nair Pretty Hair Remover Spray

What it claims -

What it did for me - I saw other reviews of this product and decided to give it a try. Well, guess what? It works! Just spray on, wait, and wipe off. The spray comes out as a white liquid which turns into foam after a few seconds. It has a tolerable smell (at least to me it does), but be careful it will come out COLD! The foam does tingle, so I'd be particularly careful around areas with open cuts and abrasions. It comes off very easy, easier then the cream version.

I found that although your hair grows back slower then shaving, it grows back faster then the original cream version. So you'd have to use this product more often then the cream. It is also unfortunate that the can has maybe 1.5 full uses (two legs per use), I wish it had more. But since the price is reasonable, I can afford another can or two when I need more.

Although the Nair Pretty line is aimed towards younger teen girls, it's a good product for older women too. It's effective and easy to use.

What it did for me - As a lip gloss, it performs fairly well. However, as a plumper it didn't do much. It has a nice cooling tingle, an orange-sherbet type flavor, and great colors. Unfortunately it was also fairly gooey and did not plump my lips at all. I just use it as a regular lip gloss (I enjoy the tingle too). The twist up tube was easy to use and apply.

Over all, I really don't have much to say about this product. It's nice as a lip gloss (although I'm sure you can find better) and not so great as a plumper.

My grade - B- (as a lip gloss), C- (as a lip plumper).

Sephora Matte Blotting Film

What it did for me - These do pretty much everything it claims it does. It helps me get rid of excess oil on my face (especially the T-Zone area) without leaving my skin looking dry. It makes your skin look naturally matte, not overly done. The sheets are blue, the more oil it absorbs the clearer it will get. Sometimes I get get part of the sheet completely clear (gross, I know, but hey at least I know it's working).

My only complaint is the packaging. On the opening flap there is a piece of tape (that you can choose to use) to dispense the sheets. You push down on the package when it's closed, the tape touches the top most sheet, and when you open it the sheet will be pulled out for you. Sometimes it will pull out more then one sheet (most likely you'll only need one) and pretty hard to get the extra sheets back in (if you're going to try). I recommend either pushing the package gently or not using the tape dispenser at all.

LUSH Honey I Washed The Kids

The actual soap is very nice too, it lathers up nicely and leaves my skin soft and lightly scented (which is the best part). My only complaint is that it dissolves too quickly. Probably faster than any other soap I've used. I guess it would make you want to buy more. But it's deliciousness makes up for it. Yum.

It's also available as a solid perfume, which I may give into buying one day.

Smashbox Soft Lights

What it claims -

Get a gorgeous lit-from-within glow with this silk-like shimmering powder. The illuminating formula softens the way light reflects on your skin and wakes up your complexion for a radiant look.

What it did for me - Although I have this categorized under blushes, I'd hardly call this a blush. I'd call it a super-fantastical-magical-cheek-color. It's not as dominant as a blush, it imparts a more natural looking glow. When I say natural, I mean it. It doesn't even look like I'm wearing a cheek color, I just look naturally flushed and glowing. I have the product in the Tint shade and it is fantastic. It also has amazing staying power, I put it on in the morning and it's still there in the afternoon.

I'd say this is a great product for those who want to glow without having unnatural looking cheeks. Yay, Smashbox!

LUSH Candy Fluff Dusting Powder

What it did for me - Oh man, I am obsessed with this stuff. It smells so awesome! It's scent is similar to that of Sweet Tarts, sweet but with a hint of TANG! Whoo! I use this for everything: I sprinkle it on my bed to scent my sheets (and body), I put it in my hair, I put it in my drawers (dresser....not underwear) and I dust it on my body. Yum. It makes my skin feel silky soft. There is a small amount of glitter in it, which some people may or may not like. I feel indifferent towards it, I don't need it there but I don't mind it.

My only beef with this product is that it contains talc, which may not be good for people with respiratory problems. The container may also be difficult to open for some. I found that if you jab the sharp end of a pair of scissors firmly into the jar, it will open easily (although your scissors will be covered with powder).

On a final note, I wish the scent lasted longer, it's so delicious that I wish I could smell it all day.
